The carnivore diet is a game of low effort and high rewards. This breakfast recipe is no different. And really, there’s nothing stopping you from having it for dinner. This diet already has too many rules to risk adding another.
If all ruminants on the planet were suddenly wiped out in the greatest calamity since the first agricultural revolution, then these two ingredients would be your next best bets. They are stacked to the brim in the nutritional department, and they’re delicious to boot.
Eggs Are Little Multivitamins
This makes sense when you consider that eggs are basically a chicken-making toolkit. So they come with a wide range of critical nutrients, including iron, B2 and folate. The only caveat I’d add, is that you’ll want to avoid the grain-fed versions whenever possible. They tend to be loaded in Omega 6, which is highly inflammatory and acts like a fat-building machine. The same can be said for bacon, which I’ve also thrown into this breakfast scramble.
But you can accuse me of splitting hairs, because when it comes down to it, any meat is going to beat out plants.
Brain-Boosting Salmon
Then we have salmon, which is loaded with critical Omega 3. This essential fatty acid can’t be made by the body, and it’s impossible to find in any meaningful amounts in plant foods. Salmon however, can readily convert into DHA, the end-product from Omega 3 that goes towards building new brain cells and quelling inflammation.
But the fun doesn’t end there. This plate also includes beef suet, rich in energising saturated fat. Ghee is a great source of butyrate, and generally can be tolerated better than butter. And any pork is going to contain high amounts of selenium.
So with all nutritional talk aside, there’s much to love about a recipe that’s both idiot-proof and mouth-watering. With the sheer range of fat-based flavour being poured into this one, your next breakfast can’t go wrong.
